Why so short? Because free-meal days, giveaway days, and discount days move around, and a wrong listing costs our readers a bus ride. When a dated freebie is live and verified — a free haircut day, a community meal event, a giveaway — it goes in the Goodie of the Week spot on the front page and in the Dispatch. Know one we should check? Tell us through the Dispatch.
